| At one time, in Jonesboro, LA, there was an old barn that stood along Highway 810. The barn is gone now, but the story still remains of the slave that used to haunt the place. As the story goes, long ago a slave was hung there on meat hooks or by rope, depending on which story you hear. I haven't found the reason the slave was hung, one could assume some "bad" behavior. At sundown every night, the slave's spirit was said to live on my knocking on your window if you drove up to the barn. With the barn being gone, who knows if the area itself is still haunted, or maybe that was what his spirit needed to transcend into the afterlife. Thanks to Christel for the pictures and info |
