| The Martin Hotel is only right around the corner from The Strand and is in the same building as the Louisiana Oyster Lounge. I just happened to see it as I made a corner and figured it looked pretty interesting to check out. It didn't seem to be uncharted territory because as I drove up a couple of guys came walking out of the door, obviously there for the same reason as I was. I didn't get a chance to explore the inside, since a police car had since came up next door to deal with a some people shouting and cussing at each other. The building isn't hard to get into because the front door is missing its glass. All of the windows that aren't boarded up are open and birds have seemed to take advantage of that. Other than broken glass and the roof of the porch being weather-beaten, the hotel is in pretty fair shape. |
